22-03-2012 We have been in Butare to visit the Institute of scientific and technology research (IRST). In the area of the institute you can see the botanic garden, medicinal herbs cultivations, the labs, the offices. There are four Departments : Department of the phytomedicaments and traditional medicine, department of the essential oils, department of biotechnology, department of conservation and protection of the biodiversity. In the labs of the centre they do essential oils production and galenic formulation with traditional herbs.
23-03-2012 The rainy season is back! In Rwanda there are two seasons : the rainy season (Mar-May and Sept-Nov) and the dry season (Jun-August and Dic-Feb). But still is quite hot.. 🙂
